Install ModOpen safely.

Use the official client, verify each step, and protect your saves before changing progression or inventory values.

Setup

Download and first activation

  1. Download from ModOpen

    Use an official Download button on modopen.com. Avoid mirrors, repacks, and links shared by unknown accounts.

  2. Open the installer

    Review the file name and publisher details, then complete the Windows installation flow.

  3. Scan your game library

    Open ModOpen and let the client find supported games from your installed storefronts.

  4. Open a game trainer

    Select the matching game page and confirm that its status supports your current game version.

  5. Activate options

    Launch the game, return to ModOpen, and enable one option at a time while testing.

Windows Defender

Review a Defender warning

Confirm that the file came from the official ModOpen domain and check its signing information. If the official file is quarantined, open Windows Security, review Protection history, and allow only the verified release.

Never disable protection permanently. Re-enable real-time protection after installation and keep the installer source visible.
McAfee

Handle a McAfee block

Open the quarantine or real-time scanning history, locate the ModOpen installer, and verify the source before restoring it. Add an exception only for the confirmed file or install directory.

Save safety

Back up before high-impact changes

Close the game, copy the full save folder to a separate location, and label it with the date and game version. Restore the backup if progression, inventory, or character values behave unexpectedly.
